Careers

Working with us means joining a hands-on Cape Town studio that prints fabric for homes, shops and businesses across South Africa. We look for practical people who take pride in accurate work, steady production and good service.

Where we hire for the studio floor

Our work needs people who can handle detail and keep pace when orders are moving. We hire for production, print operation, colour checking, design support, sales, dispatch and general studio support. Some days are spent checking artwork and repeat patterns, other days are about trimming, folding, packing or helping a customer get the right finish for curtains, upholstery or fabric by the metre. In a busy week, everybody chips in.

We are based in Ndabeni, Cape Town, and our team works with clients from Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory, Montague Gardens and Century City, plus courier orders nationwide. If you are the kind of person who notices when a colour is a shade off or when a parcel needs one more check before it leaves, you will fit in well.

People we often add to the team

We do not keep a long list of roles online, but we do look out for people with the following strengths:

  • Print technicians who understand production flow and file setup
  • Design support staff who can prepare artwork and repeat patterns
  • Sales people who handle enquiries clearly and follow through properly
  • Dispatch and logistics staff who pack carefully and keep courier movement on track
  • Production assistants who can finish, fold and sort fabric with care

Experience helps, but attitude matters just as much. We value punctuality, neat work and a willingness to learn our methods for colour matching, strike-off sampling and bulk print runs.

What working here is like

Fabric printing is practical work. You need to stay calm when deadlines stack up, keep an eye on quality and work well with others. Our studio is a place for early starts, clear instructions and steady production. On some days there may be load shedding planning, so people who are organised and can adapt quickly are useful to have around.

We expect proper care with fabric, clear communication and respect for client instructions. A sample that is packed wrong or a label that is missing can slow down a whole order, so attention to small things matters alot.

What we look for in an applicant

If you want to join us, send a CV that shows what you have done, where you worked and what type of work you are comfortable with. If you have printing, finishing, retail, logistics or studio experience, mention it clearly. If you have worked with fabrics, colour matching, courier packing or customer service, say so as well.

  • South African ID or valid work status
  • Reliable transport or a clear plan to get to Ndabeni
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer use for email and file handling
  • Good communication in English, with other languages an advantage

How to send your CV

Send your CV through our contact form with a short note about the type of work you are looking for. Include your name, suburb or area, contact number and any relevant experience. If you have a portfolio, samples or examples of printed work, you can attach those too.

We review applications as they come in and keep details on file for suitable future opportunities. If your background matches a role we need, someone from the team will be in touch.

A studio built on service and follow through

Fabric Printers Studio has been working from Cape Town since 2011, and the people here know that a good order is not only about print quality. It is also about clear notes, honest timelines and making sure the final parcel reaches the client in good order. Whether you are in production, sales or dispatch, your work supports that standard.

We serve homeowners, decorators, small businesses and trade clients across South Africa. Joining the team means being part of that flow from first enquiry to finished fabric, and taking pride in doing each step properly.

Questions we get asked

Do you advertise vacancies on a set schedule?

No. We hire as needs come up across production, print, design, sales and dispatch, then keep CVs on file for future openings.

What should I include in my application?

Send your CV, your contact details, where you are based, and a short note on the type of work you want. Relevant experience is helpful, even if it is from another studio or trade environment.

Can I apply if I do not have fabric printing experience?

Yes. Experience helps, but we also look for reliable people who learn quickly, work neatly and can follow instructions in a busy studio.
